Hummus 2 Ways

Hummus2 waysGarbanzo Hummus

1 15 ounce can garbanzo beans (or 2 cups home-cooked garbanzo beans)
1⁄4 cup fresh lemon juice
1⁄4 cup tahini

2­4 cloves of garlic­ minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 teaspoon cumin­ optional

Place all ingredients in blender and pulse until it achieves desired texture.

 

Black Bean Hummus

2 cups cooked black beans (or use 1 15 ounce can)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2­4 cloves of garlic, minced (depending of how much your family loves garlic­, but this is such a great way of giving your kids the benefits of raw garlic without a fight)
1/4 fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon salt
Variation 1: 1/3 cup tahini
Variation 2: 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt
Variation 3: 3 tablespoons tahini and 3 tablespoons plain greek yogurt

Place all ingredients into a high powered blender and pulse until you achieve your desired texture.
