This is a chemical bleaching agent used to quicken the process of flour whitening. Apparently, waiting a week for flour to whiten naturally is just too long. Why wait when food companies could be earning money NOW? This stuff bleaches it quick. It is banned all throughout Europe, Australia, and many more places due to its link with allergic and respiratory disorders such as asthma.



Azodicarbonamide is known as the ‘yoga mat’ chemical, because its main use is to make yoga mats. By all means, workout on a yoga mat, but please do not eat one. Found in over 500 foods sold in the US including breads, frozen dinners, boxed pasta mixes, and packaged baked goods. My advice is to AVOID this ingredient.
